Anvisa bans phenol in medical and aesthetic treatments
Anvisa has banned the import, manufacture, handling, marketing, advertising and use of phenol-based products in health and aesthetic procedures in order to protect the health and physical integrity of the Brazilian population, due to the lack of studies proving their efficacy and safety.
